soxen

Don't think I mentioned earlier this week I began knitting the Cut Your Teeth socks at knitty.com. That day th'Mr & I drove deep into WV, with of course a stop at the Barboursville AC Moore store on the way back. My intention was to buy a ball (or two) of Bernat Hot Sox in a solid color, to use as MC on the CutYourTeeths.

Change of plans.

AC Moore in Barboursville WV no longer has ANY sock yarn except a few colors of Magic Stripes. I was devastated. I bought a couple balls of Paton's worsted weight Merino Wool (my first wool purchase) to make it up to me.

In the meanwhile, th'Mr was next door at Target, exchanging our digicam for one that hopefully will work for more than a week.

Anyway, the Patons is destined to be a giamongous purse (knitting project tote), my first felt object, and after reading a little more about felting I've decided I'll need at least two more balls of wool for that. I've swatched - yea! - and soon's I find a zippered pillowcase will wash my swatch. Monday we go to Lexington and I'll pick up more wool at JoAnn's (or somewhere).

So, having by necessity abandoned the Cut Your Teeth soxen, and still having a sox jones, I grabbed my two resident balls of Magic Stripes and began Crusoe.

:)

Happy happy joy joy.
