knitting backwards

I've done this a time or two, but seldom enough that when I do it again I have to look at instructions. Those are all over the web, but the one I most recently looked at, which is quite nice.

Yesterday I began working on S.Turner's Double Diamond circular face cloth, and find this is a perfect pattern for knitting-backwards practice. All the K2togs and yos are done on one side; the other side is plain knit.

Essentially I'm purling backwards, as the untextured part of the cloth is done in garter. My first wedge I did the conventional way , turning at the end of each row. My second I did without turning. They look the same. The only problem I have so far is a minor one, that my backwards tension is quite a bit tighter than my forwards.

Oh, I also used a different cast-on, a figure-eight over waste yarn, which should make it much easier to join the first and last wedge at the end.
