snow

It's been snowing since sometime this morning. I've used up all the birdseed and the cats have much to watch from inside windows. Raleigh is on my computer tower right now, looking out at juncos, jays, cardinals, a downy woodpecker and sparrows. I stood up to see what else was out there and they all flew away; right now all I see are five juncos and a cardinal. They have short memories.

It's supposed to continue on like this (or worse) thru tomorrow, the forecast is three to six inches. I hope we can get out, to Lowes (birdseed, LOL), the bank & post office. Th'Mr will be wanting more "snuff" by then too. He's still not smoking (two months since surgery!) but replaced the nicotine patches with skoal bandits. I think it's a nasty habit, but better than smoking. I smoked for 25 years but haven't in the past four or five. Anyway, if it keeps him off cigarettes I guess it's a step toward off nicotine altogether. It's all I can ask :)

I've been working on the fil's mosaic lapghan. Saw some criticism of the slip-stitch technique on the doubleknitting group and I have to agree: I'm not overly fond of the end result, though the method is certainly painless. I'm not sure it will be warm enough, for one thing.

Maybe I'll make him a tumbling blocks afghan. I love that pattern. Just not sure when I'll have time; I have so many WIPs and this really bugs me - I used to be one of those people who finished everything she started. When did I get so scattered?

I joined another yahoo group, atmyhouse I think it's called. It seems to be an Elmore Pisgah (=WalMart) group; I saw someone ask what Sugar'n'Cream was. I'm pretty sure WM is the only place that sells Peaches & Cream, which I've never used, since I won't go in a WM, but that's another story.

Time to sign off and go dip my great-grandma's filet crochet hooks in molasses. Confused? I'll explain later.
