My new Google homepage is a wonder! I'm... speechless!
I'll try to explain...
There are three columns, so I can place three things at the very top of the page. After much jostling around of modules I've ended up with INFORMATION on the left, ENVIRONMENT in the center, and PERSONAL on the right. Hadn't thought this through before, but that's what it boils down to. On the left are a couple of news sources, local gas prices, a foreign word-of-the-day; in the center I have date/time, weather, calendar; on the right is an easily editable notebook and "to do" list, along with links to mail, messaging, and usenet groups I watch.
AND there's a Wiki-howto of the day, (how to infuse vodka with flavor; how to know when not to volunteer), which I end up reading... and, as with all my reading, I find misspellings and such that annoy me, but since it's a wiki, I can edit it! And I do!
What makes all this different is, I seem to have finally found a page that encourages me to read the news, to learn new things, to keep track of things I'm interested in, to make lists and NOT LOSE THEM, and it's all on one page!
I'm stupefied, gratified, and babbling.
Need. coffee. now.
