I finished Aranmor.
This was a learning experience, in more ways than one (pardon the cliche`).
Today I finally had time to sift through the 260+ emails I'd set aside in my "digests" directory (mainly knitlists and yarn-related) and saw that several people had used wool-ease on arans ...and all suggested going down a needle size or two. I'd already downsized, but apparently not enough :(
I am a big girl. I may look slender in photos or at a distance, but I'm over 5'10" and currently near 190 lb. In men's jeans I wear a 34-waist, 34-length.
At work, in a nearly all-male environment it's extremely rare for me to be among the shorter people in a group, and I've been known to joke with my colleagues, "don't give me any shit, I outweigh you!" But yeah, I look sorta slender.
Still, I knit the "medium" size of Aranmor.
And look how big it is on me :(
Yes, I swatched (though maybe not very skillfully?)
I've run it through the washer AND dryer once.
Th'Mr doesn't like pullovers and has in fact already requested a cardi, so I can't foist it off on him. I put too much work into it to give it to someone I don't know and love well.
My only hope is it will shrink. A lot.

I love it just the way it is, and would wear it constantly. You did a great job on it! Wear it with pride.
LOL Katherine, thanks for making me laugh about it. Unfortunately if I wear this thing "as is" I'm in danger of it slipping off over my shoulders and straight to the floor. This is destined to be a "frog & reknit (top down and on much smaller needles)" project for later.
