Yesterday my six balls of Icelandic laceweight arrived. I'd bought them from a knitlister who is destashing in order to make a move easier, she says ;). At any rate, $70 retail yarn plus postage and I paid $35 for it. It's an intriguing yarn, a beautiful blue and very fine. It's a little scratchier than I expected, so this won't be Mom's second shawl. She wanted lavender anyway. This is more my color!
I googled for patterns and found a few, most notably on elann.com. Suddenly start-itis struck and now I'm 24 rows into the Rambling Leaves Shawl. It's exciting, till I think of all the projects I already have OTN. Finished a third block for Kansas this morning, then spent an hour on the BBS (big black socks - for soldiers), made a pot of chili from scratch and the internet, then spent a while working on the Janlynn Bear cross stitch. Guilt is a powerful motivator.
That damn start-itis, though; I have several patterns up on the screen and can't seem to close the browser on them. I'm afraid I'll be casting on at least one of them very very soon. Maybe this one.
