So, now that I'm on the second sock (having stopped the first at the heel), decided to time myself again. Set the timer for 15 minutes, checked where I was starting, and set off knitting. While reading. That is, I read while changing needles, sometimes while knitting. I'm reading Marilyn's blog, stopping only once in a while to hit the down key, to scroll further... and when the timer went off I'd knit exactly seven and a half rows. Of 48 stitches. Which, again, comes to 1440 per hour. 24 spm. Guess I'm faster on straight needles than dpns, but I don't think I really care. I do care about getting faster, which means I've got to unlearn that annoying, unneccesary hook upwards I do at the end of each stitch, making it take probably twice as long as it ought to.
Wow, moving right along, I now have both cranberry socks done to the heel, for which I'll change color to wheat. Yeah, I know, the usual way it's done is light color socks with darker toes and heels, but as usual, I charged off in the one color without thinking it through first.
Gonna go watch a netflix movie in a little bit, so then I'll switch over to the tote (garter stitch is hard to mess up), for which, by the way, my yarn did not come today. Tonight's netflix will either be "Shut Up and Sing," a documentary about the Dixie Chix, or "Firefly," a few episodes of a TV series I never saw. I think it came out after I quit watching television.
