Yesterday was a complete bust.
At eleven ayem I asked th'Mr when he wanted to leave (home, for his heart doctor appointment, in Lexington, an hour-and-a-half and four gallons of gas away), and he said, "whenever you're ready."
Huh?
I said, "for your DOCTOR appointment??!"
He said, and I quote, "Oh. I forgot." Never mind that over the course of the weekend I've asked no less than three times what time the appointment is, and each time I got the same answer, "it's on the answering machine. I'll have to check."
So now, at eleven in the ayem, he says, "let me drink some coffee, then I'll check."
I'd like to say that in exasperation I checked it myself, but as I have a wicked case of why-should-I?'s going on this month, that didn't happen. Instead, at quarter after eleven my [expletive deleted] spouse found out that in no less than an hour and fortyfive minutes, we needed to be an hour and a half away.
Long story short, we were half an hour late. To the wrong place. Ste. Joseph doesn't HAVE a "building E." That's because despite the fact th'Mr's surgery was performed at Ste. Jo's, Dr. B's office is across town, at Baptist Hospital.
Amend that, we were an hour late.
Half an hour later a nice nurse informed us that since we're already seeing Drs R & H in Maysville, seeing Dr B in Lexington is redundant & unneccessary.
Mixed feelings. There are no yarn shops in Maysville.
On to the yarn shops...
JoAnn's on Nicholasville had only beige, ecru, black & the like in Paton's Merino (of which I'm going to felt a knitting tote in red and retro. I did buy myself an Ott Light (desk lamp) with the birthday check from my dear father in law.
On to Knit One Purl One, an independent LYS (one of two in Lex) I've been wanting to visit for some time. Long story short again: When we finally located K1P1 in Patchen Village, it was an empty storefront. The shop is closed. I think. Maybe they moved to a different location, but then, wouldn't they have left a note on their door? This was a serious blow to me, as the only other LYS I know of -the Stitch Niche, on Moore Drive-- is closed on Mondays.
I _really_ wanted to pet some nice yarn, not to mention find some with which to continue the CutYourTeeth sox. On to Michael's in Hamburg Place, my last resort. There they have No None Nade Zilch in the way of sock yarn, however do have the Paton's Merino in solids. I bought an aqua, purple, and another red. I hate aqua.
