Friday

I have ripped out the heels on my dk sox yet another time, and am ready to set them aside for a while.

Before I throw them.

Far.

Currently have the beginning of a hat (toboggan/watchcap) in Nantucket green Wool-Ease Chunky in my lap, but that's also whispering, "frog me! Frog me!"

I don't know, maybe I should set it all aside a few days.

Not that I've been doing much knitting (strike that, ANY knitting) this week, but maybe I need a break. When it's not fun anymore, you need a break, right?

On another note, I found some fine sandpaper at work and have been tapering the end of one of my dowel rod knitting needles. Now I need to remember where I put the others.

On yet another note: weather:

Monday I drove straight to work from home (2 1/2 hours)

Tuesday I couldn't get off the driveway until C got out his tractor and towed me off the ice. Got to work an hour late.

Wednesday I backed down the 2/3 of the driveway I'd managed to get up, and got to work on time.

Thursday I tried backing down again (having made it all the way up the night before), and halfway down slid off and into the woods. C couldn't tow me uphill, so with trepidation tried downhill, and I nearly ran over him and the tractor. Got to work half hour late.

Friday --that's today-- I was about a mile from C&S' place, just where the gravel road turns to pavement, and being nice (I thought), I moved to the side of the road to let a faster driver pass me. Wrong. I slid into the ditch. Now I've had it. I figured it's a Sign From The Gods and if I went to work anyway this would be the day I fell off the building or something, so I trudged back to the house and didn't wake anyone up. I watched some kind of Home Shopping network (QVC, maybe?) with S all morning, and in the early afternoon the three of us went to pull the van out of the ditch. Th'Mr phoned and suggested as long as I wasn't going to work anyway, maybe I should check the local college for driver ed classes. This did not earn him any points today.

So today I've (a) taken a nice brisk walk, a short drive, then another brisk walk, (b) watched a lot of TV, (c) knit & frogged & knit & frogged & knit & tinked & knit & frogged, (d) read a little bit, (e) took a shower (and the itchy rash is worse today), (f) did laundry, and (g) caught up my email. Really. I have cleaned 11Mb out of my webmail and I'm so proud of me.

Yikes, it's almost nine. The alarm goes off in eight hours. Guess I'd better get to bed.
